Chives erect, strong and covered with a fairly thick layer of wax. Strong skin and very thin neck allow storage up to 6 months.
Very high yield and low susceptibility to vernalisation.
Meranto is a variety recommended for both fresh vegetable market and food industry.
Recommended sowing rate: for industry 2.2-2.5 units/ha, for fresh market 2.5-3.0 units/ha. Sowing after 10 April. Resistance: Pink Root (Pyrenochaeta terrestris).
