Volcano F1 provides very high general and commercial yield of long and shapely roots. vegetation period of about 140-150 days new variety recommended for the fresh market and long storage [high resistance to cavity spot (Pythium)]; tolerates moderate humidity blunt roots, very smooth, resistant to cracking, does not silver (after washing), outer and inner core of vivid colour leaves resistant to diseases; strong vigour; leaves remain on the plants until late harvesting dates allowing mechanical harvesting Volcano F1 is an ideal carrot variety for growers aiming for very high general and commercial yield. Roots resistant to sunburning until the end of the vegetation period. Growers particularly notice this advantage, and describe it as "sucking into the ground”. Very high resistance to cracking and smooth roots allow complete mechanical harvesting and preparation for sale with a minimal loss. Also, it does not silver after washing and remains fresh and appealing to the retailer and the customer for a long time. Worth mentioning is its high tolerance to changing growing conditions - soil, humidity, stress factors such as drought, high temperatures or prolonged rainfall. The variety achieves very high yields in most soils. Sowing rate: for storage - 1.3-1.5 million seeds/ha for sale during the growing season - 1.0-1.3 million/ha. Volcano has an ideal growing period for long storage varieties. April sowing ensures good germination and a very high yield in October, the best time to harvest carrots for storage.
