Many years of experience have confirmed its low susceptibility to Thrips. With strong vigour, healthy and resistant to Xanthomonas (IR). Abel forms large heads, set high on the stem. This is a variety for very long storage. After storage, it peels easily and has a dark green outer leaf colour.
